Hi, I’m Jaclyn

I’m a therapist who specializes in sex therapy and working with sexual minority communities, though I'm happy to show up for anyone who is ready to nurture a deeper sense of connection in their lives. I got into therapy because I wanted to be able to give others some things I really needed at different points in my life: a nonjudgmental and compassionate space, radical acceptance of all the complicated parts of myself, and a gentle, loving challenge here and there.

A few things I like: singing, baking and decorating cakes, trivia, and getting excited about my houseplants.

Here are some ways I have helped people in the past:

  • Resolving sexual function issues such as erectile dysfunction, low libido, difficulty with orgasm, and sexual pain

  • Exploring sexual and gender identity and alternative relationship styles, including LGBTQIA2S+, kink, and polyamory/ethical nonmonogamy

  • Healing after sexual trauma

  • Regulating anxiety and panic

  • Writing letters for gender-affirming care

  • Soothing attachment wounds that stem from childhood and discovering the ways they affect current relationships

  • Building relationship with one’s body, especially as related to size and ability

  • Aiding in integration processes after psychedelic experiences

  • Strengthening communication and connection in various types of relationships

If these sound like things you could use some help with, please reach out to me to see if we’d be a good fit.

My approach to therapy

My approach is first and foremost trauma-informed. That means that in the process of our work together, we’ll prioritize your physical, mental, and emotional safety. I want you to feel confident, comfortable, and able to show up collaboratively in the therapy space. We may use grounding techniques, somatic exercises, and even humor to make that happen.

Being trauma-informed also involves recognizing the various ways that trauma can show up: through violence, through childhood abuse or neglect, through oppressive systems like racism, sexism, ableism, and transphobia, through grief and life transitions, in so many obvious and not-so-obvious ways. We’ll come to understand how trauma has impacted your life and what you need to begin to heal, and we’ll do it in a way that is tolerable for your nervous system so as not to overwhelm you.

My practice is informed by theories including Internal Family Systems (parts work), Narrative Therapy, Feminist Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy. I also view this work through a relational, attachment-based lens.

So what does that look like?

For me, integrating these theories means that we are able to tackle your concerns from all sides using a variety of gentle, approachable, and creative interventions. It also means that we’ll spend some time making sure our relationship - the one between therapist and client(s) - feels comfortable and safe so that you are able to express yourself freely, set your own goals, and give important feedback about how the process is going for you.
